Locations

Constanta is the largest port in the Black Sea and, with its strategic position at the mouth of the Danube Canal, is connected via Europe's second-longest river into the heartland of Eastern and Central Europe. The port of Constanta is situated on the west coast of the Black Sea, at about 170 nautical miles northwest of the Bosphorus and 220 km east of Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. In the port of Constanta, DP World has developed on an area of about 800.000 sqm three state-of-the-art maritime terminals: a container terminal with a yearly throughput capacity of about 1 million TEU, an RO-RO terminal of 70.000 trucks yearly throughput capacity and a project cargo terminal.

Aiud Intermodal Terminal sits within Romania’s industrial heartland, where 50% of the country’s industrial GDP is sourced. The terminal has direct access to the A10 motorway and through its rail infrastructure on Romania’s electrified rail network, which directly connects to major hubs across Europe. The terminal acts as a hub connecting the Central and Western parts of Romania with DP World’s terminals in Constanta and also with ports in the Adriatic, North, and Baltic Seas. Bucharest, the capital city of Romania is the location of one of our logistics offices.

Service

We have established “best in class” performance for the Black Sea through flexible and efficient operations. We operate 364 days per year (closed New Year’s Eve), 7 days per week, 24 hours per day, in two 12 hour shifts. DP World in Romania has set up highly efficient operations with minimal inherent delays, so that our customers can be serviced quickly and within predictable timeframes. SafetyWe consider safety and environment (S&E) of fundamental importance in every aspect of our global operations. We take seriously the S&E responsibilities we have to employees, customers, contractors, visitors, government agencies and communities. Management, staff and employees are guided by our corporate Safety and Environment Policy which is implemented through structured initiatives and programs. These are consistent with industry-leading practice and internationally recognised management systems (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001). We strive to limit the environmental impact of our business, particularly by employing industry-leading techniques to reduce the consumption of resources such as electricity and fuel, and reusing and recycling wherever possible.

Security

Security is a baseline service we offer our customers as a leading global terminal operator. Customers entrust millions of dollars’ worth of their assets and their customers’ assets to our terminal. But as well as a responsibility to our customers, we have a responsibility to our people and the community in which we operate, and we need to safeguard our assets as well. We take those responsibilities seriously and are committed to maintaining top quality security services. Our facilities are fully compliant both with ISPS Code and EU Rule 725/2004. DP World Constanta has been awarded AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) certification in supply chain security management. Further to DP World Constanta's ISO 28000 and C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism) certifications achieved in March 2009, the AEO certification further enhances the terminal leading security status in the Black Sea.”
