Manisha Patil, our Health, Safety, and Environment Manager at DP World in India

“When I first joined DP World, I could tell this was a company that prioritised innovation, empowerment, and growth. Becoming one of India’s first female RTG Operators was a huge milestone — not just for me, but for all women looking to break barriers in logistics and port operations. It was a proud moment that symbolised the change we all strive for in this industry.”

Making an impact

“The logistics sector has always fascinated me because it’s constantly evolving. DP World’s focus on innovation and employee development fuelled my passion to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact. Over the years, DP World has allowed me to shape my career, taking on new roles, from RTG Operator to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Audit Manager for DP World Nhava Sheva.

In my current role, no two days are ever the same. I conduct safety audits across our terminals, identify potential risks, and ensure that our operations meet and comply with both global safety standards and local regulations. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is empowering employees through training and initiatives, helping to create a culture where everyone takes responsibility for safety. The most motivating factor for me, however, is knowing that I am making a tangible impact on the safety and well-being of my colleagues. Every day, I get the chance to create an environment where people can go home safely to their families, and that is an incredibly powerful driving force.”

Comfortable speaking up

“One of my proudest achievements came during the implementation of a comprehensive behavioural safety programme in our Nhava Sheva terminals in India, called Care to Lead. This has created an environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up and contributing to safety improvements. Another proud moment was receiving industry recognition for launching innovative safety initiatives, including a real-time monitoring system for high-risk activities.”

Professional Growth

“DP World has played a key role in my professional development, offering training and leadership programmes that have helped me grow. I’ve had the chance to attend global workshops, collaborate with international teams, and participate in knowledge exchange programmes that have expanded my skill set. The company’s commitment to continuous learning has also empowered me to earn certifications in HSE management, further enhancing my leadership abilities. Far more than just a job, DP World is a community and a place of real growth. It’s where I’ve had the opportunity to challenge myself, develop my leadership skills, and push boundaries — both personally and professionally.”

I Work For...
"The ability to embrace every challenge and step confidently into new roles. I see logistics and safety management as fields full of endless opportunities to make a real difference. Growing up, I never imagined myself in logistics or port operations, but I’ve always been someone who loves challenges and problem-solving, and I used to dream of doing something impactful. That innate curiosity about how systems work and how safety is maintained has shaped my path, whilst my journey at DP World has aligned with my desire to make a meaningful difference.”
