About Us

The aim of the London Gateway Travel Plan is to maximise the use of sustainable travel and minimise car and HGV trips, therefore reducing the impact of employee and freight trips on the local community and highway network by:

• Facilitating, encouraging, and enabling all forms of sustainable travel including walking, cycling, and public transport
• Reducing the number of single occupancy vehicles accessing the site
• Encouraging healthy lifestyles
• Facilitating and encouraging significant proportions of freight transport by sustainable modes such as rail or sea
• Reducing the number of road traffic movements particularly during traditional highway peak periods
• Minimising the impact on local communities by encouraging freight traffic to avoid the use of local roads.
