Motorista Legal Program offers free services for truck drivers at DP World Santos

DP World Santos begins the Motorista Legal program. In its 9th edition, the campaign offers truck drivers that circulate through the terminal free health and wellness services, besides updating and reinforcing safety measures.

The program is held annually since the terminal started operating in the Port of Santos. This year, the edition will take place between August 29 and 31, from 10am to 4pm. All truck drivers entering the terminal facilities on these dates will be invited to participate.

The campaign’s program includes basic health services, such as blood pressure measurement, glycemia, cholesterol tests, and visual acuity (vision test). The drivers also have the option to have their hair cut by a professional and must go through a safety induction, which aims to alert about the practices that must be respected inside and outside the port facilities. At the end of the action, a prize will be raffled among the participants. All current Covid-19 protection protocols will be respected.

The action contributes to reducing safety incidents and mitigating the impacts inside and outside the terminal. "Through this action, we reinforce the commitment to safety and quality of life of people that are essential to port activities, in this case the truck drivers, a category of professionals fundamental to the development of the country," said Ricardo Generozo, Director of Operations at DP World Santos.

In addition, the Motorista Legal program integrates the ESG actions practiced by the company. With them, DP World Santos is able to look at the demands, expectations and needs of the communities that help its operation to be efficient and advantageous to the surroundings.

In total, more than 4 thousand truck drivers have already gone through the Motorista Legal program in the last nine years. In 2022, the expectation is to receive 500 participants.
