Modern Management Systems
In addition to state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern management systems implemented to provide integrated port logistics solutions to its clients, DP World Brazil uses the NAVIS logistics planning system, one of the most modern in the world. NAVIS integrates specific software for making reservations in the yard and planning container logistics and placement on the ships, grouping containers by order of handling in the Ports.
The system also enables cargo management from the reservation of the parking spot by the truck company, recognition and guiding of the driver entering the terminal, parking of the truck and entering the loading area to the ship.
The compound also counts with Gates that guarantee the celerity and automation of the whole process, and the identification of the drivers by a biometry system and BDCC (system of identification for customs enclosures). Control of incoming and outgoing vehicles and cargo will be done by Optical Character Recognition (OCR), which verifies the truck plate number, container number and driver information, allowing for automatic access, provided that the vehicle is properly scheduled for the time.
Renowned Productivity
In 2016, DP World Brazil was appointed the terminal with the highest productivity indicator, according to the report “Performance of the 2016 Waterway Sector", released by the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq).
The volume of loading and unloading per hour on a ship is the main indicator for measuring the productivity of a container terminal. The report indicated DP World Brazil with an average productivity of 88.8 operations per hour of activity.
