The Maiden Factor Foundation donates over R$ 70,000 to social project for girls’ education in Brazil
Date: 22/06/2023
The amount comes after the female crew stopover in Santos; girls will benefit from access to sport for a better future
The Maiden Factor, which recently docked at the Port of Santos, announced the donation of over R$70,000 to the “Bruto Fruto”, a social project that supports teenage girls in Santos, Brazil. The Maiden Factor is globally sponsored by DP World Group and the project was chosen after the first visit of the sailboat in Brazil, in May.
On June 19th, a formal ceremony was held with the presence of representatives from DP World and Santos City Hall, besides members of Bruto Fruto Empodera.
The chosen project to receive financial resource from The Maiden Factor Foundation in Brazil aims to enable girls who live in areas with social vulnerability to be protagonists of their own stories through education. Bruto Fruto will offer sports classes, lectures, talking sessions and other activities for the students and their families in order to promote social development.
“Through the allocation of resources, we are contributing to the growth of the female presence in all areas where they want to be. In the future, DP World, which is already one of the terminals that most employs women in Santos, will have its doors open to welcome them and empower them to build a prosperous life”, says Fábio Siccherino, CEO of the Company. Maiden Factor sails the world with an 100% female crew to raise funds and support communities, enabling girls to have access to quality education.
