SECOND LIFE CONTAINER

Giving golf balls a second life in grassroots golf

In its third season on the DP World Tour our unique Second Life Container, a repurposed 20-foot shipping container, has visited tournaments across the globe on a mission to collect used, unwanted and lost golf balls throughout the season.

Over the course of three years, DP World has collected over 300,000 golf balls, redistributing them using our global logistics network, giving them a second life in grassroots golf.

Giving golf balls a second life
Rather than ending up in landfills, or hidden away in cupboards at home, the unwanted golf balls collected during the season will be repurposed and redistributed to support grassroots golf projects, helping to give more people access to the sport.

Donations have been made from DP World Tour players, fans, governing bodies, professional golf ball divers, ball-collecting dogs, and children’s golf ball hunts.

So far, balls have been sent to initiatives around the world, including India, Kenya, South Africa, Europe and UAE.

BALLS FOR BIRDIES

DRIVING BALL DONATIONS THROUGH PLAYER SUCCESS

During the season, we have pledged to donate golf balls linked to the number of birdies, eagles and albatross shot on Tour.

For each birdie, 1 ball will be donated

For each eagle, 2 balls will be donated

For each albatross, 100 balls will be donated

At the end of the season these will form part of our beneficiary donation, giving the golf balls a second life and growing the game of golf globally.

ENHANCING ACCESSIBILITY TO GOLF

Kenyan Junior Golf Foundation

Kenyan Junior Golf Foundation

We continued our partnership with the Kenyan Junior Golf Foundation by donating a shipping container full of golf equipment during the Magical Kenya Open.

The 20-foot container was unveiled in a special ceremony in the tournament village at Muthaiga Golf Club and moved to the Junior Golf Foundation HQ, based in Nairobi after the tournament. The container houses golf equipment, including balls, clubs, clothing and swing nets.

The Golf Foundation India

The Golf Foundation India works with talented young golfers to help support and nurture the future of Indian Golf.

We donated 10,000 balls and equipment to The Golf Foundation India ahead of the Hero Indian Open, which will make a big difference to the group from Punjab who currently use construction rods moulded into various clubs and ping pong balls to practice with.
