DP World Callao
One of the most productive terminals on the West Coast of South America.
In 2006, DP World signed the Concession Contract to build and operate the Callao Port – Terminal – South Zone. With the efforts of hundreds of Peruvians and the DP World’s know-how, today we are the largest container terminal in Peru. Due to an investment of more than 1 Billion dollars, we have enabled the businesses of thousands of Peruvians, providing a great experience to connect local products the most important markets in the world, as well as generating development opportunities for Peruvian families.
We have 40 hectares in total, equipped with 10 quay gantry cranes (of which 3 are 100% electric) for handling the vessels berthing at our facilities, and 37-yard cranes (12 of them 100% electric) for handling the storage yard. Our quay is 1,050 meters long, and we also have 1,694 reefer inlets for refrigerated containers and a 100% electric loading station. In addition, our checkpoints are digitized with OCR systems and other software capabilities for efficient cargo management. These features position us as one of the most productive terminals in South America.
In 2021, we started the Muelle Bicentenario Project, the expansion of the terminal with an estimated investment of an additional 350 million dollars. With this mega Project, we will increase the Port's capacity by 80%, reaching 2.7 million TEUs in 2024.
The Muelle Bicentenario Project will be delivered in phases. We will start adding capacity in September 2023 and will reach our full capacity in April 2024.
We work daily to fulfill our purpose: Connect Peru with the World.
